The Manager, Decision Support performs and oversees the development of modeling, reporting, research and analysis on internal financial and operational data, along with external market analysis using various tools for the purpose of providing operational insights and strategic planning. Provides project management and leadership in the implementation of key departmental initiatives. Responsible for effective maintenance of Decision Support systems and data through regular audit driven oversight and documentation of processes. To be effective in this role the Manager, Decision Support will be highly motivated and possess advanced critical thinking skills, highly developed analytical ability, and be an effective communicator with all levels of the organization

Essential Duties:

  • Develops, manages and maintains various reports including profitability, service level, volume, financial and other ad hoc reports.
  • Responsible for the provision of patient-level financial and clinical data and analysis to inform and partner with the medical center/service line for financial and strategic decision making.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities through bench-marking of goals and trend analysis.
  • Maintains optimal functionality and enhancement of Decision Support systems including data integrity through audits and workflow documentation to ensure optimal platform performance.
  • Creates databases, templates, dashboards and reports to fit the needs of departments and leadership as requested.
  • Provides excellent customer service; establishes and maintains effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Responsible for the successful analysis, initiation, planning, execution, and implementation of programs and projects as assigned.
  • Direct supervision of employees.
  • Assists with training and mentor-ship of new staff.
  • Responsible for maintaining security of information: e.g. patient records, salary, staff and legal information in a confidential nature.
  • Performs other tasks and assists with other projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Accounting or Finance focus preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Req 5 years Experience in accounting, financial analysis and decision support experience in a hospital based or similar environment
  • Req Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Req Ability to work with any data sources such as PBAR, Cerner, Strata and future systems as needed to accomplish objectives.
  • Req Must have advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Req Communicates effectively with peers, management, hospital staff, leadership, and external customers.
  • Req Capable of anticipating questions and address information needs through comprehensive analysis.
  • Req Ability to understand and explain variances.
  • Req Provides excellent customer service; establishes and maintains effective working relationships across the Health System.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref business administration, health administration, CPA, or other relevant degree program.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,240.00 - $181,896.00.
