Responsible for the effective operations of Image-guided procedures within Imaging Services Department, including Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, CT,& MRI Image-Guided Procedures, and Theranostics at Keck Medical Center in coordination with the medical staff. Ensures compliance and accreditation for the Nurses working in image guided procedure area to include Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement. Provide strategical input in the compliance with organizational goals, departmental clinical services including intraoperative monitoring, and development of special programs. Responsible for developing and maintaining educational programs for nursing and technologists.
The Nursing Director will oversee Interventional Radiology, Preop and PACU service areas and will manage the units in coordination with the medical staff and in compliance with organizational goals and with the appropriate regulatory agencies. The Nursing Director holds 24 hour accountability for the quality of patient are, efficiency of operations, and human resources management of the departments. Patient care and services are administered in collaboration with hospital administration, the medical staff and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agency requirements.
Essential Duties:
- Safety: Ensures an effective process for measuring, assessing, and improving patient outcomes and patient safety based on standards of care to create culture of world class service excellence across the inpatient and outpatient care continuums.
- Quality: Maintains responsibility and accountability for Departmental Key Performance Indicators that articulate the tactical components of the Strategic Plan. In partnership with KMC nursing leadership, executes the strategic nursing initiatives and tactics for the service. Ensures JCAHO and regulatory standards are always met across the service. Creates processes that support dissemination of data and information to leadership and staff. Assists with maintenance of electronic medical records (EMR) and other information systems as determined necessary for quality, outcomes, growth and development.
- Staff Management: Evaluates staffing and qualification requirements for the provision of services. Maintains a highly engaged workforce and ensures effective recruitment and retention of staff, including talent strategy for key performers. Ensures competence of assigned team members, including nurses, and compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational policy, and performance requirements. Develops and oversees Imaging Services orientation and education for nursing, technologists and support staff. Ensures team member development needs are met.
- Service: Achieves customer satisfaction with service delivery. Acts in a timely manner to remedy complaints. Supports efforts to investigate feedback comments to determine customer satisfaction and initiates appropriate follow up. Supports continuous and ongoing customer satisfaction through the service excellence standards.
- Growth: Facilitates the development and implementation of strategic and operational/business plans, policies and decisions of Image-Guided services through coordination, growth, and marketing initiatives with appropriate entities across the inpatient and outpatient system of care, in partnership with Manager of Imaging Services, senior executives, and physician leadership. Establishes key elements of strategic plans with measurable contributions towards achievement of results of the service. Partners with physician leadership to meet needs/expectations and build/maintain new internal and external physician relationships.
- Financial Stewardship: Prepares and submits operational and capital budget recommendations for assigned modalities, programs or sections Senior Leadership approval; revises as appropriate. Adheres to budget and productivity guidelines. Monitors and evaluates budget variances to provide for the continuous availability of quality services, taking corrective measures and appropriate. Financial Stewardship: Oversees billing operations ensuring maximum net revenues, efficiency and effectiveness in collecting accounts receivables.
- Professional Accountability: Seeks additional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.

Required Qualifications:
- Req Bachelor's Degree Nursing
- Req Master's degree Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field
- Req 5 years Experience in a leadership position in Imaging Services or Nursing, preferably in an academic environment.
- Req Knowledge of industry standards, organizational management, quality management, and change management techniques
- Req Understanding of financial Analysis, budget and planning processes
- Req Strong leadership, strategic vision and guidance.
- Req Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
- Req Demonstrates ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills. Promotes a professional image in demeanor, appearance, attitude and behavior.

Preferred Qualifications:
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing) Valid California License.
- Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $158,080.00 - $260,832.00.
