Our Occupational Therapist is accountable for: 

  • Delivering individualized and group occupational therapy services to students to support participation and success in the school environment
  • Conducting assessments to identify sensory-motor, fine motor, and self-regulation challenges affecting academic and social performance
  • Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families to develop and implement IEP goals, accommodations, and classroom strategies
  • Maintaining thorough, timely documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines (e.g., IDEA, Medicaid billing where applicable)

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Understanding of child development, sensory processing, and the impact on learning and behavior in school-aged children
  • Experience contributing to IEPs and familiarity with school-based OT practices, IDEA/504 accommodations, and Response to Intervention (RTI)
  • Skilled in play-based therapy, fine motor interventions, handwriting programs (e.g., Handwriting Without Tears), and adaptive strategies for classroom access
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and work effectively with students, families, and educational teams

Candidates must hold a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program and possess a current, valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state.
