The Director of Supplier Strategy is responsible for owning KellyOCG's strategy for the engagement, contracting, and management of MSP suppliers (excl. Supply Chain Enablement activities, i.e. administrative supplier onboarding and ongoing compliance administration/contract administration). 

 

The role will work in collaboration with adjacent supplier, third party risk and leadership teams, and be responsible for developing strategies related to MSP suppliers in the areas of supplier relations, lifecycle management, and contracting.

 

The Director will act as the escalation point for issue and conflict resolutions related to KellyOCG suppliers, working as the “mediator”, and leveraging strong relationships with suppliers and the KellyOCG business to facilitate solutions and compromises that work well for all parties.

The position additionally is expected to develop supplier-related sales strategies and to be the dedicated SME for sales teams when pursuing potential clients who are supply chain focused, including participating directly in sales meetings.  

 

The role will manage a team of supplier contract, compliance, and relationship professionals, with 5+ direct reports once the team has been assembled. The team managed by the Director will perform the operational activities required to implement the Company's supplier needs and strategies under the direction of the Director. 

 

The role is critical to the success of the KellyOCG MSP practice by ensuring we have access to the suppliers and talent our clients need. The role is further broadly focused on sales activities, e.g. by leveraging Kelly supply chains to identify and cultivate business opportunities and will be expected to generate significant revenue through lead generation from suppliers and from participating in sales activities.

 

Our Director of Supplier Strategy is accountable for:

 

Supplier Strategy & Engagement:

  • Own and manage the global supplier strategy and engagement (SS&E) workstream.
  • Support business development activities as SS&E SME.
  • Develop and improve Kelly's overarching SS&E processes and strategies. 
  • Manage a team of senior supplier relations professionals who are responsible for the following activities.
    1. Manage relationships with key suppliers
    2. Work with suppliers to identify leads for MSP opportunities with new or existing clients, including developing and managing a rewards program for successful leads
    3. Manage escalations related to supplier performance or non-compliance issues
    4. Manage supplier Helix engagements
    5. Supplier performance management/coaching
    6. Plan and execute supplier forum/awards event(s)
    7. Manage the Supplier Advisory Council
    8. Manage the Preferred Supplier Program
    9. Supplier data analytics
    10. Market intelligence for expansions/new markets
    11. Supplier optimization/recommendations
  • The Director is also expected to perform operational supplier engagement work alongside their team as needed to ensure responsive and competent global coverage across the relevant time zones.

 

Global Supply Chain Contract and Compliance Services Global Supply Chain Contract and Compliance Services:

  • Own and manage the global supplier contract development workstream.
  • Develop strategies for using automation and AI to streamline and reduce complexity of contracting.
  • Develop and improve Kelly's overarching supplier contracting processes and strategies. 
  • Manage a team of contract & compliance professionals who are responsible for the following activities:
  • Developing and amending all Kelly MSP supply chain contracts.
  • Developing and managing industry leading supply chain contract templates and contracting strategies.
  • Interfacing with internal stakeholders and clients in order to develop industry leading tailored documents and strategies for each new client/product/country implementation.
  • Approving/rejecting change requests related to supply chain contracts and developing client waivers as necessary.
  • Supporting the business when negotiating legal terms with suppliers.
  • Advising and consulting with internal stakeholders and clients providing direction, strategy and tactics for supplier engagement.
  • Lead conversations with client sponsors and SMEs on supply chain engagement and contracting strategies, or when there are serious supplier engagement issues.
  • As necessary, participate as subject matter experts in reviewing client and/or supplier agreements.
  • performing the supplier contract risk assessment process when appropriate and owning, updating, improving the associated contract risk assessment tool.
  • The Director is also expected to perform operational contract work alongside their team as needed to ensure responsive and competent global coverage across the relevant time zones.
  • Support business development activities from a supply chain engagement and compliance perspective.


Qualifications:

  • Leadership capabilities ideally competent in managing remote teams.
  • Experience in engaging with and managing relationships (including conflicts and escalations) with third parties.
  • Comfortable meeting with clients and suppliers and giving presentations. 
  • Growth mindset, always looking for revenue and sales opportunities. 
  • Knowledge of supplier lifecycle management.
  • Must be comfortable working internationally in a truly global and diverse organization.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into easily digestible and practical business information.
  • Ability to develop and report on measures or metrics related to supply chains.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
