Location: Painesville, OH
Salary: $110k-125k based on experience 
Shift: 1st Shift 7am to 4pm Monday-Friday

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tool Room Manager to lead our corporate tool & die team and support all manufacturing operations. This is a critical leadership role that offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on production performance and strategic growth.

Position Summary:

The Tool Room Manager is responsible for the management and execution of all tool & die activities including design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of tools, dies, and fixtures. This role ensures efficient operations within the department while driving innovation, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, supervise, and develop the tool & die teams, including training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement procedures for tool & die design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair.
  • Manage tooling projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve tooling and manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee department budgeting, inventory control, and procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with company safety policies and industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maintain quality.
  • Maintain and develop the in-house apprenticeship program to grow internal talent.
  • Execute strategic initiatives supporting long-term company growth.
  • Support employee development in roll tooling and die programming.
  • Participate in Tooling Review Committee meetings and decision-making.
  • Ensure timely tool & die support for production needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • 10–15 years of experience in machining, tool & die making.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency with CAD software and machining tools.
  • In-depth understanding of stamping, forming, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of industry safety regulations and best practices.
