1st shift Toolmaker - DIRECT HIRE
Location:
 Watertown, CT
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Pay: $30–$38 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

Kelly is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join our team. This role is key to maintaining process control in eyelet stamping and supporting production activities such as setups, component changes, and start-ups. We're looking for a hands-on team player with deep experience in eyelet tooling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, construct, alter, and repair complex tooling including dies, punches, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and press tooling.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering data to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Operate a wide range of tool room equipment: lathes, milling machines, grinders, saws, jig borers, presses, etc.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Troubleshoot and repair tooling and mechanical components such as gears, pulleys, and sensors.
  • Perform bench and machine operations to construct and assemble eyelet tools and dies.
  • Setup and troubleshoot production tooling and resolve component quality issues.
  • Maintain and repair production tooling as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement and cross-functional teamwork in the stamping department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman License preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in eyelet manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and blueprint reading skills.
  • Experience with deep drawn metal products and high-speed transfer presses is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of PPE required on the production floor.
  • Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, lifting, pushing/pulling, crouching, and grasping.
