Employment: 6 months with a chance of extension 

Shift: Day Shift | Monday to Friday | 8AM to 5PM | ONSITE 

Pay Rate: $20.58/hr 

 

Summary of Responsibilities:  

The Accounting Specialist provides backup support to the Financial Services district by performing administrative and financial duties, including processing invoices, warrants, deposits, EFT authorizations, and managing agency inventory. The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with data entry and clerical tasks, and proficiency in Excel, Word, and automated accounting systems. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Provide backup support to Financial Services by performing administrative and accounting tasks. 

  • Process warrants, deposits, EFT authorizations, and invoices accurately and timely. 

  • Track agency inventory and maintain accurate accounting records using automated systems. 

  • Analyze financial data and prepare summaries as needed to support district operations. 

  • Perform clerical tasks, including data entry, document management, and correspondence. 

  • Apply lean management principles to improve workflow and efficiency. 

  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations. 

  • Prioritize and manage multiple assignments to meet deadlines. 

Must-haves:  

  • Previous accounting or clerical experience 

  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Notepad, and Google Email 

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills 

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage assignments independently or in a team 

Skills Desired/Preferred:  

  • Accounting experience in accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, or warrant processing 

  • Experience with lean management principles 

  • Experience with automated accounting/banking systems 

  • Knowledge of agency or governmental accounting procedures
