Analytical Chemist
Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group Kelly OCG , a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking an Analytical Chemist for a long-term role at one of our Global medical device clients in Jacksonville, FL.

Shift: Monday through Friday (day shift)
Until the end of 2026 will likely extend.
Pay Rate: $22.00 an hour and up based on experience

Summary:
The Analytical Chemist performs advanced analytical testing and supports the development of contact lens, consumer eye health, and intraocular lens products. This hands-on laboratory role involves chromatographic and spectroscopic analysis, data management, method development, and ensuring compliance with quality standards in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct chromatographic and spectroscopic analyses (e.g., HPLC, GC, Mass Spectrometry, FTIR) on samples in compliance with validated/qualified methods and regulatory guidelines.
- Accurately document sample submissions, test methods, and results in both laboratory notebooks and the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Prepare deviation and investigation reports as required; participate in laboratory investigations and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, monitor inventory of supplies, and coordinate storage of analytical records.
- Assist in the development, validation, and improvement of analytical methods and protocols.
- Participate in method development for new materials and products, as well as routine and non-standard testing (e.g., appearance, materials identification, preservative, lipid, and protein analysis).
- Support quality/compliance initiatives, including measurement system analysis and system improvements.
- Ensure all work is performed and recorded according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project objectives and communicate findings as appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Open to recent BS Chemistry grad with intern experience.
- Ideally 1-7 years of experience in industry.
- Demonstrated experience with chromatographic techniques; prior work in regulated medical device or pharmaceutical labs is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles, data reporting, and laboratory operations.
- Proficiency with LIMS, statistical analysis, and experimental design is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
