Area Electrical Engineer
Pay: $120,000 to $140,000 (DOE)
Location: Bethlehem, PA (Relocation Assistance available)

Qualifications: 
Education/Experience Requirements:

•    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required
•    5 to 7 years of experience with at least 5 years in an operational and engineering environment working with electrical and instrumentation equipment.

•    Demonstrated exceptional operational safety leadership
•    Self-started and self-directed with ability to manage multiple activities
•    good technical and communication skills with solid interpersonal skills
•    Knowledgeable and experienced working with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of substations/switchyards, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, motors, and distribution systems along with associated protection and support equipment
•    Experience working with electrical equipment at a wide range of voltages from 138KVAC down to 24VDC.
•    Knowledge and experience working with electrical short circuit analysis, relay protection settings & coordination, power quality analysis, high voltage motor starting schemes and analysis, hazardous area classification and lightning protection
•    Knowledge of large high voltage motors and motor starters, induction and synchronous
•    Knowledge of predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies (Thermography, Partial Discharge Monitoring, PdMA testing, etc.)
•    Familiarity with National Electrical code and ability to reference applicable standards as needed
•    General understanding of regulatory and industry standards and codes
•    Air Separation experience and knowledge is a plus.

Principal Responsibilities:
•    Supports the Area in achieving key outcomes in safety, reliability, efficiency, compliance, cost and customer service. 
•    Provides technical, troubleshooting and maintenance support to all ASU, CO2, H2, and He plants within the area for all Electrical equipment including medium and high voltage substations/switchyards (up to 138KV), low | medium | high voltage switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, motors (up to 40,000HP), distribution systems along with associated protection and support equipment.
•    Provide day-to-day plant electrical support and assist with the execution of small improvement projects.
•    Work with Area controls engineers, mechanical engineers, as well as National Reliability Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers to support any respective initiatives or projects.
•    Assist with redlining, maintaining, and developing as necessary electrical documentation including single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, elementary diagrams, wiring schematics, layout drawings, interconnect drawings, cable and conduit schedules, panel schedules, & loop sheets.
•    Routinely review Electrical condition-based vendor data reports and provide recommendations and necessary repair plans for any noted deficiencies to ensure reliable operation (thermography, partial discharge monitoring, PdMA etc.)
•    Review and approve electrical and electrical PMs, work instructions, and related procedures and provide feedback and recommendations for changes as necessary.
•    Review the quality and completeness of electrical equipment PM execution at assigned plant locations and provide technical support with planning and execution.
•    Lead the troubleshooting and repair of critical failed electrical equipment including MOC guidance, plant/equipment outage decision making, repair plan, and root cause analysis
•    Identify, define, estimate, develop, and execute electrical turnaround maintenance activities. Supervise inspection and testing, overhaul, and replacement activities. Includes motors, switchgear, substations, MCC's protective relay replacements and upgrades. Familiar with requirements for commissioning.
•    Manage and provide technical support to electrical contractors to ensure accurate scope completion, proper documentation updates, standards compliance, and applicable code compliance (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, etc.).
•    Provide Electrical execution support to the Projects Execution Team for major capital projects and new plant installations within the area. 
•    Represent the area's electrical reliability interests in the proposal and project commercialization process, including the scope and spares input and new plant acceptance
•    Complete area electrical technical reviews of MOCs and provide supplemental engineering data, drawings, and analysis as necessary.
•    Leads the annual training and certification process of all area technicians in regard to NFPA 70E regulations, ensuring proper knowledge and practical training around the utilization of electrical equipment within each plant in the area.
•    Demonstrates continuous improvement by sharing best practices employed and adopting best practices identified by peers.
•    Perform instrumentation condition assessments for reliability, efficiency, spares gap, age and obsolescence. Monitors the completion of action plans to reduce and eliminate identified gaps and risks
