Beer Loader - Forklift Operator in Savannah, GA
Pay: $18 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 PM start (8-10 hour shifts)
Job Summary:
The Beer Loader position requires a skilled Forklift Operator responsible for weighing pallets, verifying their correct weight, and loading them onto route trucks. Operators must work quickly and accurately, reading labels, identifying routes, and handling cases without breaking, while using a forklift. Ensuring standard productivity and following company policies is essential to maintain a safe workplace. Duties are assigned based on the work station.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately read route and truck numbers to ensure correct truck loading.
- Use the company's logistics management system to account for all cases on the manifest.
- Verify correct weight for all beer pallets using company equipment.
- Place inaccurate pallets in the QC area for correction; load accurate pallets on route trucks.
- Identify damages and safely clean up spills.
- Safely operate a hand truck, motorized pallet jack, and forklift.
- Maintain appropriate records to ensure inventory control, rotation of stock, and security.
- Replenish product within locations using company technology and power equipment as required.
- Assist with physical inventories as needed.
- Help in other trucks or areas when necessary or assigned.
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently.
- Report in writing any safety or mechanical issues with power equipment.
- Maintain the facility in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Assist in maintaining logistics security.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Six months of experience in a similar position preferred.
- Must have forklift experience.
- Experience with operating pallet jacks and other power equipment preferred.

Working Conditions:
- Ability to maintain high proficiency and job standards in non-temperature controlled environments, with exposure to heat, humidity, and inclement weather.
- Occasional work in refrigerated areas.
- Moderate to loud noise levels, with some dust and fumes from power equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular, reliable attendance required.
- Frequent operation of pallet jacks and/or forklifts if assigned.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, lift and carry, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Perform lifting of 50-65 lbs, with some overhead lifting required.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to judge distance.
