Job Posting: Bookkeeper / Administrative Consultant (Remote, Part-Time)

Location: Solana Beach, San Diego, CA (Fully Remote)
Hourly Rate: $40 – $45/hr
Schedule: 2–4 hours per week (Part-Time, Consulting Basis)

About the Role

Kelly Services is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Consultant to support our client's financial operations and administrative needs on a consulting basis. This flexible, remote role is perfect for an experienced QuickBooks Online user who thrives in managing day-to-day accounting, HR coordination, and business administration for a small company.

In this role, you'll work directly with the CEO and play an essential part in maintaining accurate books, supporting compliance, and keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

  • Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online
  • Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries
  • Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and custom reports
  • Handle vendor and customer records, invoices, and payments
  • Coordinate with outside accountants, CPAs, and tax professionals
  • Support state and federal tax filings (including 1099s and CA business property tax returns)
  • Stay current on QuickBooks Online features and compliance changes
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements

HR & Payroll Support

  • Assist with employee onboarding, recordkeeping, and benefits tracking
  • Coordinate with payroll providers for timely, accurate processing
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state employment requirements

Administrative Support

  • Provide general office and administrative assistance to the CEO
  • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries
  • Organize and maintain digital records and reports
  • Support other duties and projects as needed
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (consulting experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (required)
  • Familiarity with HR and payroll processes
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently, handle confidential information, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
