Chemical Inventory Technician
Location:  Chandler, AZ (100% onsite)
Contract Duration:  Up to 18 months
Contract Type:  W2 through Staffing Supplier
Hours:  Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Pay Rate:  $25.95/hr

The Chemical Inventory Technician is responsible for taking inventory of multiple stockrooms, accurate inventory control, and dispositioning expired inventory. Monitoring daily chemical inventory movement onsite, daily warehouse orders, and assisting customers with unique requests. 

Perform inventory management related functions such as organizing physical inventory, returning chemicals to the warehouse, creating bar code labels for chemical tracking software, called Sigac. Will be trained to have an in-depth knowledge of Sigac system and perform troubleshooting for Sigac issues. 
Support factory operations with Sigac system in factory, creating tool locations, setting up new chemicals, and reconciling chemical inventory in Sigac database. Provide daily customer service functions, communicate with internal/external customers to support factory operations, and inquiries relative to inventory management.

Ultimately you will be responsible for managing several chemical stockrooms on the Chandler, AZ campus. Responsibilities:

  • Review daily orders for chemical inventory replenishment
  • Take inventory of multiple chemical stockrooms, and accurate inventory reporting in systems
  • Support factory operations with chemical inventory in order to ensure no tool down time
  • Physically move or relocate full chemical containers, smaller containers mostly
  • Use a bar code reader to scan chemicals into inventory (Sigac)
  • Reconcile onsite physical inventory into chemical tracking software (Sigac)
  • Disposition expired chemicals to waste, and return chemicals to the warehouse
  • Support receiving chemicals from 3rd party warehouse
  • Will handle chemicals, including hazardous materials, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided and required for certain activities
  • Maintains chemical stockrooms, signage, de-trashing overall housekeeping
  • Assist with onsite storage allocation for chemicals
  • Support managing the chemical tracking software and hardware (Sigac)
  • Support factory pass throughs; auditing, cleaning, and reporting
  • Other duties are assigned to support factory operations
Requirements and Skills:
  • Proven work experience with inventory management
  • Several months of customer service, organizing inventory, or material handling experience
  • Knowledge of scientific products/chemicals is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Working knowledge of Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements: Job requires some lifting, most containers are less than 50lbs Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in chemical inventory handling, tracking, management
  • Experience in chemical/specialty gas field
  • Experience with SiGaC (Internal Chemical Tracking System)
  • Spill containment training, DOT, and OSHA Right to Know is a plus 
  • Associates Degree/Bachelor's Degree
  • Military Experience with some post HS education
