Description

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently recruiting candidates for a Night Shift Laboratory Technician position at a specialty chemical manufacturing facility located in Crosby, TX.

The overall responsibilities of this position are to analyze raw materials, intermediates, and final products to ensure compliance with quality specifications and customer requirements. In addition, this role provides technical assistance to internal customers, operations, and other plant personnel.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and test samples to determine the quality of raw materials, in-process samples, and final products
  • Enter analytical results into laboratory computer systems (LIMS)
  • Prepare documents  and communicate results of sample analyses to appropriate personnel
  • Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair QC lab equipment
  • Participate in investigations pertaining to both EHS incidents as well as non-conforming material
  • Review and update procedures as needed
  • Maintain lab inventories as needed
  • Always follow good housekeeping practices
  • Attend all safety meetings and training sessions
Experience / Qualifications
  • 2-year Associates degree in a technical program/BS degree in Chemistry/Science preferred
  • 2 years' experience in a chemical laboratory setting preferred, but fresh graduates will be considered
  • Experience testing materials for physical properties (e.g., density, pH, viscosity, etc.) would be a plus
  • Experience conducting wet analysis (e.g., acid number, cloud point, etc.) would be a plus
  • Laboratory experience in analytical instrumentation (GC, HPLC, FTIR, etc.) would be a plus
  • Ability to work without supervision once trained
  • Perform all tests and lab work following industry standards for personal safety and hygiene
  • Communicate efficiently in written and verbal forms
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience required
  • Ability to train on 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) and work on the night shift once trained (9:30pm-6am)
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed for business purposes
Job Details Summary
Contract-to-Hire
Training shift hours: 2:00PM-10:00PM
Regular shift hours: 9:30PM-6:00AM
Pay rate: $23.00
