Kelly Science & Clinical has a new, temporary opportunity for Chemist in Medinah, IL!

Shift: M-F 8:00am-5:00pm
A 3-Month Contract Opportunity

Job Summary:
The Chemist I oversees daily operations, ensuring adherence to established methods and quality standards. They are responsible for conducting tests, analyzing data, and preparing reports. Additionally, they serve as the main point of contact for clients and provide training within the company.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain up-to-date procedures and reports in accordance with company standards.
  • Evaluate test results for accuracy and acceptability, ensuring data traceability.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments, troubleshoot instrument issues.
  • Host client visits/audits and assist in client consultation.
  • Review data quality to identify areas for improvement in methods or procedures.
  • Uphold service standards and meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Coordinate with Lab Analysts to manage workflow and meet project deadlines.
  • Follow regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO) and company policies.
  • Complete required training on time and adhere to ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 guidelines.
  • Attend work regularly and engage in continuous learning and training.
  • Perform training for new and existing employees.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, computer skills (Microsoft Office), and technical knowledge in chemistry.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and exhibit leadership.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in a science-related field) or equivalent experience.
OR
  • Associate degree or two years of NL laboratory experience with demonstrated proficiency.
OR
  • High school diploma or GED and five years of NL laboratory experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capable of bending, stooping, crawling, and lifting up to 45lbs.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols in a laboratory environment.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional laboratory setting, using standard office and lab equipment. Exposure to biological and chemical hazards may occur, requiring adherence to biosafety and chemical hygiene policies.
