Chemist

Schedule: On-site four days a week and one day remote. Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
Location: Starts in Skillman NJ lab relocating to Summit NJ in next month or two
Length of assignment: Six months
Pay: $30.00 an hour
Must be able to provide your own IT device (laptop)
Summary:
We are seeking a talented Research Chemist to conduct exploratory research and formulation projects. The ideal candidate will support the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of potential products through critical analysis, experimentation, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct exploratory research and formulation to build upon existing knowledge, generate new insights, and support product development.
- Perform chemical analyses on a variety of materials and chemicals using wet chemistry techniques, such as viscosity and pH measurements.
- Apply analytical methods and evaluation criteria to resolve scientific challenges, exercising sound judgment within defined practices and policies.
- Practice safe and environmentally compliant laboratory techniques in alignment with regulatory, local, and corporate safety guidelines.
- Design and direct laboratory experiments, developing new methodologies as needed.
- Clearly communicate experimental results and findings through verbal presentations and written reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information according to all relevant protocols and procedures.
- Document laboratory work thoroughly, maintaining complete records and checklists for future reference.
- Assist senior staff members in preparing technical reports and manuscripts.
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline is required.
- Open to recent grads with internship or undergrad research
- Experience with analytical and wet chemistry techniques, including viscosity and pH, strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to laboratory safety and compliance.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
