What's a typical day as a Workers Compensation Claims Supervisor? You'll be:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and processing complex or technically difficult workers' compensation claims

  • Managing high-exposure claims involving litigation and rehabilitation

  • Investigating claims, setting reserves, and negotiating settlements within authority

  • Ensuring timely state filings and statutory compliance

  • Coordinating vendor referrals and managing litigation processes

  • Applying cost containment techniques to reduce overall claims cost

  • Managing claim recoveries including subrogation, Second Injury Fund, and Medicare offsets

  • Communicating with claimants and clients; maintaining professional relationships

  • Auditing files and ensuring accurate coding and documentation

  • Supporting and mentoring claims staff, ensuring best practices are followed

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
  • 5+ years of workers' compensation claims management experience in California

  • SIP Certification (mandatory)

  • Strong knowledge of California WC laws, medical management, and claim duration standards

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills

  • Experience supervising a team of examiners and a passion for staff development

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and claim management systems
