Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented External Communications Manager to drive Kelly Services' brand and reputation for our FCC and LR divisions in the North American market. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in external communications, PR, and media relations, with an established network of Tier 1 media and trade industry contacts. This pivotal role will focus on developing, executing, and measuring strategic communication programs that engage the financial, compliance, and regulatory media, amplifying Kelly Services' solutions and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute integrated communications and media relations strategies to elevate the profile of the FCC and LR divisions.
• Craft high-impact communication materials, including press releases, statements, media alerts, by-lined articles, blog/social posts, executive messaging, FAQs, and Annual Report submissions.
• Proactively engage with targeted reporters and media outlets, pitching stories, creating opportunities for executive interviews, and driving coverage across multiple channels.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key media, industry publications, analysts, and influencers.
• Organize and support media/analyst briefings and events.
• Identify and manage industry award nominations and analyst ranking submissions in partnership with divisional Communications VP.
• Monitor industry trends and media coverage, ensuring both proactive opportunities and rapid response to emerging issues.
• Oversee PR governance, compliance, and continuous improvement of communication practices.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (HR, Brand, Internal Comms) to align external messaging with business strategy and employer branding.
• Utilize external agencies and digital tools to enhance message consistency, measurement, and impact.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or relevant field required; advanced degrees or relevant certifications a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in media relations/external communications within corporate or PR agency environments.
• Established media network across the North American financial and compliance sectors.
• Demonstrated success in crisis communications and complex messaging for diverse audiences.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Strong collaboration, organization, and project management skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, compelling communications.
• Experience with media monitoring tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and genAI/AI prompting in communication strategies preferred.
