Construction Project Scheduler

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: $50-60/hour

Contract Type: Temporary to Hire

 

Our client, a premier maintenance, construction, and equipment installation company based in Houston, TX, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Scheduler to join their team. The Scheduler will play a vital role in supporting a major project and contributing to the company's continued growth by efficiently coordinating project schedules, managing resource allocation, and ensuring timely completion of tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and field teams to drive operational excellence and meet client expectations. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 and Procore, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and company objectives.
  • Apply Critical Path Methodology (CPM) to structure schedules, identify key milestones, forecast potential delays, and communicate actionable solutions to project teams.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to gather essential data, understand project scope, and accurately sequence activities.
  • Monitor and analyze project progress, proactively suggest adjustments, and report on schedule status to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead schedule review meetings, provide clear and concise reports, and facilitate effective communication between project teams.
  • Support resource planning and allocation to optimize workforce, equipment, and material deployment across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ensure project schedules are maintained with the highest degree of accuracy and integrity, delivering a quality product that meets client and company standards.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts, prioritizing tasks in high-pressure environments with professionalism and determination.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5–10 years of hands-on scheduling experience in the construction, maintenance, or industrial sectors.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and working knowledge of Procore required.
  • Deep expertise in Critical Path Methodology (CPM) scheduling and demonstrated success in planning and managing complex projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret project documents, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the drive to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Resilient personality with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in demanding, fast-paced settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project needs.
