Clerk I – Customer Service Representative
Job Summary
The Customer Service Representative (Clerk I) is responsible for providing comprehensive customer service and support related to the services of the Customer. This role includes assisting customers with scheduling, processing financial transactions, handling communications, and performing clerical tasks to support training operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist customers in scheduling trainees for all courses.
- Process cash, credit card, and check transactions in accordance with established procedures.
- Answer incoming phone calls, assist customers or route calls to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Respond promptly to customer emails.
- Balance receipts daily, close each business day, and prepare accurate deposits.
- Utilize software to schedule, check in, and check out students in compliance with the customer's policies.
- Maintain knowledge of business rules for specific training courses to ensure accurate student processing.
- Provide support for trainees, instructors and staff in various departments, including classroom and on-site classes.
- Execute a variety of clerical duties, such as generating reports, copying, and filing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and workstations.
- Provide assistance during afterhours, weekends, holidays, and outside of regular business hours as needed.
- High school diploma, or three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective verbal communication skills, including presenting before groups of customers or employees.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Capable of performing mathematical computations and solving mathematical problems involving percentages, commissions, discounts, and basic algebra and geometry.
- Sedentary role primarily involves sitting with occasional walking and standing required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision requirements include close, color, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee will work in a dynamic office environment, interacting regularly with staff, customers, and other departments.
