Direct Hire Industrial Maintenance Technician – Welding & Mechanical
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay: $38–$43 per hour (Based on Experience)
3 Shifts: 12a to 8am / 8am to 4pm / 4pm to 12 am

has partnered with a leading industrial manufacturing facility and seeking skilled individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and stick welding experience to join the Maintenance Department. This role supports equipment reliability, plant operations, and continuous production in a fast-paced industrial environment. Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Technician provides hands-on support through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of mechanical equipment and systems. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform corrective and preventative mechanical maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems using schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Install and set up new plant equipment.
  • Repair and maintain pumps, piping, machinery components, and processing equipment.
  • Perform steel fabrication, repairs, and structural modifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support and enforce company and site-specific safety programs.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of recent industrial experience in millwright work, industrial maintenance, or machine repair.
  • Ability to pass a SMAW (stick welding) test.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and welding applications.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to work safely and follow established procedures.
  • Proficiency with shop and hand tools.
  • Ability to use computer operating systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid work ethic, problem-solving abilities, and basic leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work any shift, including overtime and rotating weekends.
