Position: Draftsperson/Designer
Location: Mentor OH (can work remotely)
Responsibilities:

• Drafting tasks, with a focus on sheet metal and plumbing, utilizing CREO 6 and up.
• Parts definition for parts purchase.
• Utilization of the Windchill PLM documentation system.
• All tasks to be driven by PLM, with Parametric HM conducting tests.
• Design, detail drafting, and documentation on minor or major projects and products assigned by Senior Designers and/or Engineers.
• Develop design specifications for products and assist in resolving design problems to support new product development.

Essential Job Functions:

• Create new part numbers in Windchill PLM, replace parts in assembly, and detail assembly layouts under the guidance of Manager, Designers, and Engineers.
• Coordinate, assist, and direct efforts between Manager, Engineers, Sr. Designers, and supporting Drafters on projects from documentation through engineering release.
• Lead drafting efforts, supporting drafters in preparing the documentation package required to support the design. Aid in developing drafting personnel in line with STERIS' policies and procedures.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings regarding views, dimensioning, conformance to Company engineering specifications, and drafting standards. Assist in final drafting checks and securing necessary approvals for all drawings.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in CREO 6 and up, with exceptional skills being a plus.
• Experience in sheet metal and plumbing drafting.
• Familiarity with Windchill PLM documentation system.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of Engineers, Designers, and Drafters.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• This is a short-term position with the strong potential for extension based on project requirements.
