Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Assembler in Addison, IL. Candidates must have extensive experience with:
- Schematics
- Electrical assembly
- Reading blueprints
- Panel wiring/building
- Have their own hand tools
This is a contract to hire opportunity, meaning you will get hired directly after 3-4 months, depending on your performance and attendance.

Pay: $23 - $26/hr.
Hours:
1st Shift: 6:00pm-2:30pm, Monday through Friday
or
2nd Shift: 2:15pm-10:45pm (will train on 1st shift until September)
Position Summary:
The Electrical Assembler is responsible for the assembly, testing, and quality assurance of medium voltage power distribution gear, including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and control systems. This role involves reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to accurately assemble and install electrical components while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire medium voltage power distribution components (e.g., switches, switchgear, circuit breakers, bus bars) per specification.
- Interpret and follow electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure correct assembly.
- Perform detailed installation of control wiring, grounding, relays, sensors, and other critical elements.
- Perform electrical and functional tests to verify compliance with industry and customer standards.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure assemblies are free of defects and perform within required tolerances.
- Document test results, adjustments, and rework performed during the assembly process.
- Diagnose and resolve wiring or component issues that arise during the assembly or testing stages.
- Replace or repair faulty components as needed, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Work closely with engineering or manufacturing teams to resolve complex assembly issues.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including work orders, test records, and inventory tracking.
- Adhere to workplace safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficient assembly processes.
- Work closely with team members, supervisors, and engineers to meet production timelines and quality standards.
- Report issues or suggestions for process improvement to the production supervisor or quality control team.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate's degree in electrical or mechanical field preferred.
- Experience in assembly or wiring of electrical components, particularly in medium voltage applications, is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power testing equipment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, bending, or kneeling.
- Comfort working in a production environment with potential exposure to electrical hazards (with proper PPE provided).
