Electrical Assembler/Panel Builder Technician
Location: Addison, IL
Pay: 23-28/hr

2nd Shift: 2:15pm-10:45pm (will train on 1st shift until September)

Requirements:

  • Schematics proficiency
  • Own set of hands tools
  • 2+ years of electrical assembler, panel wiring/building, or other electromechanical assembly (strongly preferred)


Position Summary:

The Electrical Assembler is responsible for the assembly, testing, and quality assurance of medium voltage power distribution gear, including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and control systems. This role involves reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to accurately assemble and install electrical components while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assembly and Wiring:

  • Assemble and wire medium voltage power distribution components (e.g., switches, switchgear, circuit breakers, bus bars) per specification.
  • Interpret and follow electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure correct assembly.
  • Perform detailed installation of control wiring, grounding, relays, sensors, and other critical elements.

2. Quality Control and Testing:

  • Perform electrical and functional tests to verify compliance with industry and customer standards.
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure assemblies are free of defects and perform within required tolerances.
  • Document test results, adjustments, and rework performed during the assembly process.

3. Troubleshooting and Rework:

  • Diagnose and resolve wiring or component issues that arise during the assembly or testing stages.
  • Replace or repair faulty components as needed, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Work closely with engineering or manufacturing teams to resolve complex assembly issues.
