ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (Controls Engineer)
Full Time / Direct Hire -- $100,000 to $125,000

Responsibilities:
The Electrical Engineer II leads the electrical portion of multiple complex capital projects for construction aggregate production.  This work includes designing, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical power and control systems.  The individual is expected to lead the engagement and collaboration with all stakeholders involved in a project to develop the best possible solution.  To be successful, the individual needs to display a high level of curiosity, strong work ethic, effective communication skills and possess a passion for improving industrial processes.  The Individual is expected to be an expert in stone aggregate process control theory.

  • 20% Project Management – Ability to manage multiple complex project schedules, budgets, and scopes.  Specify and procure all electrical component needs for a project.  Manage electrical contractor documentation and execution.  Lead diverse multifunctional teams as needed by the business.
  • 20% Power Distribution Design – Ability to develop motor lists, one-line diagrams, and conduit and cable schedules.  Design and procurement of Electrical switchgear and motor control centers.  Power design must meet NEC standards.  Interface with Electric utilities as needed.
  • 30% Control System Design – Lead the development of innovative Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programs to further enhance control and automation of crushed stone equipment.  Manage and lead project startup and commissioning to ensure safe and effective operations.  Oversee designs of Electrical Engineer I's. 
  • 20% Troubleshooting – Assist plants and electrical technicians with troubleshooting and repair of electrical issues to support safe operations with minimal unplanned downtime.  Develop and lead training for electrical technicians and operations.
  • 10% Research and Development- Investigates and tests new technologies to enhance stone aggregate operation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.), preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • 4-5+ years' experience with industrial automation, control, and power systems.
  • PE license is desired but not required.
  • Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, computer programing)
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams.

  • Expertise with national electrical code (NEC)
  • Expert understanding of heavy industry or similar.
