Job Description
Position Title: Research Technician – Energy Systems 2023
Designation: Operator – Energy Systems
Function: Quality, R&D
Location: Marietta, USA
Job Purpose:
Operate high-temperature furnaces to advance energy systems, particularly graphite production and characterization. Collaborate with the team, conduct experiments, prepare samples, and produce laboratory results on energy systems initiatives.
Job Context & Major Challenges:
Operate pilot scale laboratory equipment safely, handling materials, performing maintenance, and resolving unusual operating conditions. Willingness to accommodate diverse working conditions and communicate effectively within the Energy Systems team.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Operate milling and furnace equipment for graphite processing (50%).
2. Perform routine maintenance and machine set-up (20%).
3. Prepare samples for customers (10%).
4. Assist with experiments and operate lab equipment (10%).
5. Document logbook entries and create reports (10%).

Position Requirements:

• Education & Experience: High school diploma, 2-year certification preferred. Industrial maintenance or manufacturing process experience a plus.
• Skills: Laboratory bench skills, computer proficiency (Microsoft Office), effective communication.
• Ability: Physical requirements including standing, lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, bending, and stretching.
• Misc. Requirements: Occasional travel (<10%), periodic shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications: Industrial maintenance or manufacturing processes experience.
