FS&RE Engineering Intern, Indianapolis, IN

Kelly Services is seeking an Engineering Intern. Must be a current Engineering student with interest in facilities and maintenance. CAD Experience (Computer Aided Design) for one of our top clients.

Duration: 1 Year
Type: Contract W2
Pay Rate: $18.50/hr. (W2)
Shift Times: 7 am – 5 pm Flexible (20 hours)
Interview Process: Virtual  

Job Purpose:

Under the direction of the Engineering & Reliability Leader, the engineering intern is responsible to successfully navigate engineering requests and aid in data gathering while learning project management and facility maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Personal Safety
  • Learn and Work safely within the company site safety requirements.
  • Must be able to walk site, climb ladders, hot/ cold work environments, and wear proper Personnel Protective Equipment as needed at all times.
  • Actively participate in safety activities and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Reliability
  • Asset tagging of serviceable assets on all systems.
  • Fill out data capture forms for equipment as needed.
  • Interact with emaint (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) to ensure assets are properly entered into the system for future maintenance activities.
  • Engineering & Computer Aided Design
  • Help with CAD design and changes for small projects
  • Organize O&M manuals and as-built drawing library
  • Validate equipment & process information out on the campus for engineers
    Qualifications
    • Working on a B.S. in Engineering or equivalent. Preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
    • Management Diversity: Must be able to budget time effectively and efficiently to organize their workload.
    • Human Relations: Interpersonal skills include interacting with Maintenance and Operations personnel, union and non-union contract labor and companies, management, engineering peers, and R&D personnel.

    Problem Solving:
    • Be able to apply problem-solving techniques used in engineering classes to accomplish responsibilities outlined previously.
