Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Project Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with a long-standing precision manufacturer in St. Louis. This organization produces complex, close-tolerance components for aerospace, defense, and other high-reliability industries, supporting both domestic and allied customers.
Compensation
$85,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on skills and experience

The Project Manager supports both legacy production and new product development initiatives. This role ensures that project scope, technical requirements, cost targets, and delivery schedules are met—acting as a bridge between customers, engineering, production, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of assigned projects from launch through completion, ensuring contractual milestones, schedules, and deliverables are successfully achieved.
- Monitor project status, identify risks or delays, and coordinate cross-functional corrective actions with engineering, operations, and quality teams.
- Partner with production to maintain alignment with budget, scope, and schedule requirements.
- Lead development of project plans, proposals, statements of work, and customer specifications; support negotiation of terms and performance expectations.
- Serve as the primary customer point of contact, facilitating ongoing communication, hosting project reviews, and ensuring customer expectations are met.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities to expand existing programs or introduce new product offerings.
- Prepare, review, and implement cost-reduction initiatives, trade studies, and process improvement strategies.
- Approve written reports, presentations, and project communications; collaborate with suppliers to resolve procurement-related issues within established guidelines.
- Manage all contract data and documentation requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submittals.
- Maintain organized project files according to internal standards.
- Lead project meetings, communicate status of corrective actions, and provide recommendations for improved performance.
- Coordinate with internal departments to support schedule adherence and issue resolution; act as a liaison between customers and executive leadership.
- Relevant technical degree, certification, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
- Broad understanding of technical disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, systems, or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance for complex projects.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple programs simultaneously in a high-mix production setting.
