Job Title: Entry-Level Lab Technician - Semi-Volatiles Department
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract to Hire
Location: Ypsilanti, MI
Pay: $20-22/hr
Hours: 830AM- 5PMEST M-F About the Role:
Kelly Science and Clinical is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Lab Technician to join the Semi-Volatiles Department for one of our premier clients in Ypsilanti, MI. This position is a gateway to build your career in analytical chemistry, offering the right candidate the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals in a dynamic laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare organic samples for analysis through extraction or digestion procedures.
  • Adhere to approved analytical methods and ensure precision and accuracy in all procedures.
  • Deliver extracts or digested samples to the appropriate analyst or storage location.
  • Cross-train and participate in other analytical or related laboratory functions as needed.
  • Perform extractions or digestions within specified time frames according to relevant regulatory and quality guidelines.
Specific Duties Include:
  1. Execute extractions/digestions timely and accurately, following test methods and quality assurance plans.
  2. Calibrate and document equipment settings prior to testing.
  3. Accurately transcribe sample information into records or databases.
  4. Verify calculations and documentation as per company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  5. Complete and document confirmatory tests within their holding times.
  6. Identify and initiate corrective actions on any quality control issues.
  7. Report potential sample quality concerns to the Quality System Manager (QSM).
  8. Maintain and document equipment condition, performing necessary maintenance and repairs.
  9. Manage inventory by ordering reagents and supplies needed for procedures.
  10. Communicate any productivity challenges to the Laboratory Director, Project Manager, or Organic & Chromatography Lead Person.
Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Completion of general chemistry courses at the college level
  • A college degree is recommended but not required.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
