Entry Level Scientist
The primary function of the MSAT Lab group is to support manufacturing by performing small scale lab experiments in the area of cell culture and purification.
POSITION SUMMARY: Perform routine lab operations in MSAT Cell Culture and Purification labs
POSITION DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Executes cell culture and purification process development studies
2. Executes small scale lab experiments following Standard Operation Procedures SOPs and laboratory batch records LBRs
3. Follows laboratory safety protocols
4. Collaborates with development scientists and cross-functional team members
5. Organizes and analyzes data from process development studies
6. Works with minimal supervision after training
Skills Competency Requirements:
Must be comfortable with routine laboratory operations and documentation systems such as BPRs and SOPs
Excellent record keeping and communication skills
Demonstrates general knowledge in laboratory techniques used in cell culture and protein purification
Basic biological laboratory skills, preferably handling and analyzing live cell cultures in aseptic environments, and/or experience with protein purification
Able to troubleshoot typical problems encountered during routine lab operations
Preferences: Familiarity with cell culture processes equipment such as bioreactors and downstream equipment for protein purification such as AKTA Pure/Avant is desirable

Education Requirements : BS/BA
Skill Competency Requirements:
1. Hands-on experience working 0-1 year with AKTA Explorer/Pure liquid chromatography system
2. Requires record keeping and good communication skills
3. Troubleshoot typical problems encountered during routine lab operations.
