A day in the life of a Facilities Maintenance:
The Facilities Maintenance I provides semi-skilled labor required for the care, cleaning and general maintenance of grounds, including buildings, fixtures and furnishings; and other physical features.
This person will perform preventive maintenance for mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems and components thereof, including, but not limited to, lubrication of moving mechanical parts, filter changes, and repair of ballasts in light fixtures.
Shift Details: This position will start on 1st shift 7am - 3:30pm. Working five days a week, with one weekend day. After training is completed, it will move to 2-3 nights a week along with the other days on day shift.
Pay Rate: This is an hourly based union position starting out at $17.63
Qualifications for the position:
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, material safety data sheets and other safety information required for proper performance of the work.
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems and components.
- Operating knowledge of manual and small power tools commonly used in carpentry, maintenance construction, grounds, and custodial maintenance trades.
- Ability to operate a variety of electric and gas-powered driven maintenance equipment.
- Ability to gather and analyze data as related to use of; or troubleshooting of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Sufficient mathematical ability to mix cleaning chemicals, and other compounds in proper proportions.
- Ability to interact positively and appropriately with coworkers, supervisors, managers, guests, contractors, concessionaires, and members of the general public with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
High school diploma or GED combined with building and grounds maintenance experience.
