ESG Analyst (Pittsburgh, PA)

Our client, to support steel division, is currently seeking an ESG Analyst who will work within the organization to drive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management and decarbonization performance with orientation for continuous improvement. Client is looking to add an individual to team who can help the company develop and maintain the formulation, delivery, and communication of our sustainability strategy. The Analyst will work to identify, manage, and respond to stakeholder expectations for operating a responsible sustainable business while working across the entire company to drive the ESG agenda.

ESG Analyst's recognize that environmental, social, and governance factors are interconnected and can have significant impacts on a company's long-term sustainability, financial performance, reputation, and overall value creation. This person will lead efforts integrating ESG considerations into business strategies, decision-making processes, and operations, and by doing so mitigate risks, identify opportunities for innovation and growth, enhance stakeholder relationships, and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive global economy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in a Relevant Field (Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Business, Climate Change), Required.
Minimum of Three (3) Years of Experience in Relevant ESG Work in a Corporate Environment or Consulting, Required.
Knowledge of ESG Software, Ratings, and Indices, Preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookup lists, graphing) and PowerPoint skills.
Knowledge of sustainability trends and ESG best practices.
Proficiency in conducting ESG assessments, analyzing data, identifying material issues, and preparing sustainability reports.
Familiarity with ESG reporting standards and frameworks.
Enthusiastic learner with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
Ability to self-motivate with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Capable of solving problems and using sound judgement.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and proactively take initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compile ESG data including the annual GHG inventory.
Track and report on ESG performance by evaluating Key Performance Indicators.
Monitor sustainability trends and assess the implications for the company's business strategy.
Support various internal groups to address ESG issues and help improve ESG performance.
Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to communicate required sustainability indicators in line with the ESG key performance indicators to achieve specified outcomes.
Review requirements for and complete ESG rating submissions.
Engage with ESG rating agencies to capture and analyze ratings and feedback.
Research and write reports on best practices, technology, policy, and regulatory aspects of sustainability topics.
Support users during the implementation of a new ESG performance management platform.
Maintain use lists, emission factor libraries, and update key performance indicators and dashboards.
