Description

The FTZ Traffic Clerk coordinates and controls all inbound and outbound freight within a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) environment. This role ensures compliance with U.S. Customs, FTZ regulations, and international shipping requirements while supporting inventory and production needs for distribution and manufacturing operations. The position works closely with internal teams, customs brokers, carriers, and government agencies to ensure accurate, compliant, and cost-effective freight movement.

21.00 per hour

Responsibilities
 

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight for domestic and international shipments in compliance with FTZ and U.S. Customs regulations.
  • Ensure accurate FTZ documentation, customs filings, and recordkeeping for imports, exports, and intercompany transfers.
  • Serve as primary liaison with customs brokers, carriers, and U.S. Customs for material movement and compliance issues.
  • Maintain data integrity by accurately executing SAP transactions related to receiving, shipping, and inventory movements.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure FTZ labeling, storage, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Support freight strategy execution, carrier selection, and performance tracking, including basic KPI reporting.
  • Coordinate special shipments, equipment transfers, and non-routine freight movements.
  • Perform monthly FTZ audits, prepare import/export balance reports, and support regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with training employees involved in FTZ activities and support overall warehouse operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Coordinator.

Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in warehousing, FTZ operations, customs compliance, or CBP-related roles.
  • Experience working in international and cross-border logistics environments.
  • Working knowledge of FTZ and U.S. Customs regulations.
  • SAP experience and familiarity with inventory and shipping transactions.
  • Experience with U.S. Customs electronic systems.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish (required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
