Key Responsibilities:
- Operate advanced Agilent GC and GC/MS systems for both qualitative and quantitative analysis, delivering reliable results under tight deadlines.
- Independently execute established chromatographic methods for both routine and special projects, ensuring strict adherence to industry regulations and lab protocols.
- Perform routine instrument upkeep, including liner and septa changes, source cleaning, and column maintenance, to maximize equipment uptime and data accuracy.
- Diagnose and resolve common instrument and method challenges efficiently, leveraging your technical expertise to minimize lab disruptions.
- Uphold best-in-class recordkeeping practices by accurately documenting all analytical activities in lab logs, worksheets, and digital systems.
- Balance multiple projects and shifting priorities with effective time-management, supporting timely throughput of samples and high-quality deliverables.
- Partner with fellow scientists to support method development, data review, and ongoing problem-solving, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding progress, challenges, or resource needs.
- Proven, hands-on experience with Agilent GC and GC/MS systems within an analytical or environmental testing laboratory.
- Solid understanding of chromatographic principles, sample prep, and data interpretation.
- Demonstrated aptitude for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
- Unwavering attention to detail and commitment to upholding strict data quality and documentation standards.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to fluctuating workloads.
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to self-manage and thrive both autonomously and in a team setting.
