Description

Kelly partnered with a global titanium steel process manufacturer location Detroit, and we have a JOURNEYMAN Maintenance Technician(s) opportunity for 2nd and/or 3rd shift. 
 
Compensation:  $33.80 per hr.
2nd shift- $.25 shift premium
3rd shift -$.40 shift premium 
Hours: 2nd shift ( 2pm - 10pm )  or 3rd shift (10pm - 6am)

What's a typical day as Maintenance Technician? You'll be:
• Conducting routine inspections of machinery and equipment
• Performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) as necessary to keep equipment running at its optimal rate
• Troubleshooting to determine necessary repairs
• Providing mechanical support to manufacturing operations
• Installing, assembling, dismantling machinery, conveyor systems, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
• Correcting machinery and equipment deficiencies
• Assisting with electrical and plumbing maintenance
• Inspecting buildings and other structures
• Performing general repairs
• Assisting with the upkeep of the facilities
• Inspecting and identifying equipment or machines in need of repair
• Complying and monitoring of occupational safety and environmental regulations
• Performing other related duties as assigned
 
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
MUST HAVE UAW journeyman card/certification
• Have Forklift, Skid Steer, Aerial Work Platform, Overhead and Mobile Crane experience (preferred)
• Are able to read blueprints
• Understand how a machine functions
• Are able to use instruction books
• Have knowledge of on-the-job safety requirements
• Have basic welding and fabrication skills (preferred)
• Are able to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently
• Are able to understand and follow directions as given
• Have manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Are able to compile information and make decisions
• Have a high level of commitment
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Must wear department personal protective equipment
• Must be willing to work in inclement weather conditions both indoor and outdoor
