Laboratory Technician – Food Testing

Day Shift; Entry Level

Kelly Science is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician for a food testing laboratory.  This role is responsible for processing customer samples in a food testing laboratory, ensuring they are handled and analyzed according to protocol.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare, and set up samples for analysis.
• Enter data, choose analyses, and manage samples using a LIMS database.
• Maintain client samples at appropriate temperatures.
• Segregate samples according to COMPANY procedures.
• Assist with shipping customer supplies.
• Communicate with clients regarding order clarification.
• Follow established laboratory procedures and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in quality assurance programs.
• Assist in managing team priorities and goals.
• Prioritize own and others' safety within the work area.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a food testing laboratory (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices (preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to perform detailed tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and apply basic math concepts.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

• The work environment may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, chemicals, and pathogens.
• The job requires working with computers, operating machinery, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
• The role requires adherence to COMPANY safety protocols, general OSHA laboratory safety guidelines, and ISO 17025 quality procedures.
