Job Title: Laboratory Support Assistant - Glass Wash Department

Location: - North Chicago, IL
Employment Type:3 month assignment w/possible extension

Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Support Assistant to join our Glass Wash department. In this role, you will assist with basic lab support tasks, including delivering dry ice, managing glassware requests, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Essential Functions:

  • Perform routine laboratory support activities across multiple functions, including:
    • Delivery of dry ice
    • Collection and distribution of glassware requests
    • Cleaning and maintenance of laboratory glassware and plasticware
  • Operate a box truck for local deliveries and pickups as part of daily lab support operations
  • Respond to lab-related emergencies as assigned

Culture and Expectations:

  • Dress Code: Lab coat provied, casual dress code
  • Equipment Requirements: Steel-toed boots required
  • Work Environment: Collaborative and supportive team atmosphere
  • Team Structure: Work closely with lab personnel and other support staff
  • Day to Day: Engage in various lab support activities, ensuring efficient operations

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience:

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • At least 1 year of experience operating a box truck (no CDL required)
    • 6months-1 year experience as a lab assistant/glass washer
    • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to follow directions and perform tasks efficiently and accurately
    • Positive attitude and the ability to interact effectively with others
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Basic computer skills
    • Understanding of office equipment and machinery
    • Ability to lift or push up to 40 lbs
