Role: Maintenance Technician
Location: Northfield, MN
Pay Rate: $30-35, based on experience
Schedule: 2nd Shift 4pm-2:30am, Monday-Thursday
Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes. This position will also assist in the upkeep and repair of building facilities and will report to the Facilities Director.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Utilize PLC, electrical, and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair building and production equipment as needed.
- Maintain the physical property, including painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and large repairs to buildings and equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance work and other preventative maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and modifications as needed.
- Maintain all walkways and entry areas of the facilities.
- Assist the Facilities Director in developing maintenance priorities.
- Remain aware of personal safety requirements associated with each task and wear personal safety eyewear and utilize other protective items as required.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Respond efficiently to safety concerns identified by the Safety Committee and other personnel.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with formal training in electrical or mechanical fields.
- Moderate electrical skills with an understanding of PLCs.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance needs, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skills.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with mature judgment; must be a problem solver and independent thinker.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to take work direction.
- Must have great energy, be in good physical condition, and be able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to move equipment and furniture and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working with computers.
