This hands-on role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of plant and process equipment. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of mechanical, electrical, and welding experience, along with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Location: White Bear Lake
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $30-31, based on experience
                  Shift differential  
Schedule: 2nd Shift, 6pm-6am, 2-2-3 schedule
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

  • Rebuild and maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

  • Troubleshoot PLCs and replace instrumentation such as RTDs, chart recorders, and sensors.

  • Utilize CMMS for work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and inventory management.

  • Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, saws, and hand/power tools safely and effectively.

  • Weld various metals including stainless steel to 3A dairy standards using TIG, MIG, and stick.

  • Perform machine work using mills and lathes.

  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting, including testing fuses, reading voltage/amps, and interpreting schematics.

  • Maintain ammonia and steam systems, including boiler operations, valve repairs, and water testing.

  • Conduct HVAC, plumbing, and door system repairs.

  • Participate in weekend/holiday rotations as needed.

Qualifications
  • High level of welding, electrical, or mechanical skills preferred.

  • Comfortable working in extreme hot/cold and varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance procedures, and technical manuals.

  • Basic math skills including working with weights, volumes, and distances.

  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.

  • Able to work from heights, climb stairs/ladders, and stand/walk for long periods.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

  • Flexible to work various shifts as business needs require.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement (completion of at least one job-related course per semester encouraged).
