Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

Pay Rate: $24.00/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
Contract Length: 6-month contract (with potential extension based on project needs)

About the Role

We are seeking detail-oriented and motivated Technicians to join our Manufacturing Engineering team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will support a fast-paced product development environment by assisting with the building, inspection, and measurement of prototype and sample products for customer evaluation. Your work will be critical in ensuring products meet engineering and quality standards throughout early development and process validation phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support manufacturing and process development engineers with assembly, operation, and inspection of prototype samples and customer builds.

  • Perform detailed, high-precision work under a microscope.

  • Interpret and follow engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions accurately.

  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, OGP systems, and optical comparators to confirm product conformity.

  • Assist with sample production, troubleshooting, and applicator development activities.

  • Measure and evaluate components and samples to validate design and process quality.

  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to identify and resolve issues during assembly or inspection.

  • Safely and effectively use basic hand tools to complete assignments.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace within the manufacturing lab environment.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing, machining, or engineering technology preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, prototype, or precision assembly environment preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, high-precision tasks.

  • Proficient with hand tools.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation, reporting, and data entry.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills in a collaborative lab environment.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain accurate records, and report inconsistencies or issues to engineering staff.

Work Environment
  • Laboratory/manufacturing setting supporting engineering development activities.

  • Work may require extended periods using microscopes, precision instruments, and measurement tools.

  • Strong commitment to safety, product quality, and continuous improvement is essential.
