Job Summary
The Meadows Museum is seeking a Marketing Assistant to support the Assistant Director of Marketing and PR in executing the museum's marketing and communications strategy. This role plays a vital part in amplifying the museum's mission, enhancing its public image, and increasing engagement across multiple channels.
The MMP will create compelling visual and written content for social media, the website, and in-museum communications to drive visitation, grow membership, and encourage donations. This role also involves coordinating marketing projects, managing timelines, and ensuring smooth collaboration across departments.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the museum's social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
  • Oversee marketing and PR project timelines, production calendars, and deliverables.
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns for exhibitions, events, and educational programs.
  • Design and produce print and digital marketing materials such as flyers, newsletters, and member communications.
  • Maintain and update website content with current exhibition, event, and news information.
  • Promote museum programs and events through digital and community outreach.
  • Track and analyze marketing and social media performance metrics; provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
  • Support administrative and departmental tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director of Marketing and PR.
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field required (or equivalent relevant experience).
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, social media management, or communications—preferably within a museum, cultural institution, or nonprofit setting.
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
 
Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh ideas and solutions.
  • Passion for art, culture, and museum engagement.
Technical Proficiency:
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (required).
  • Familiarity with social media management tools, WordPress, HTML, and CRM systems (such as Altru) preferred.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact) a plus.
 
Work Schedule
  • Primarily Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional evenings or weekends required for museum openings and special events.
  • Fully On-site
