Job Title: Materials Handler I 

Location: Florida Facility

Job Summary: 
A fast-growing technology manufacturer is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Materials Handler I to join our Inventory Control team. In this important role, you'll be responsible for coordinating material movement, maintaining inventory accuracy, and contributing to our fast-paced production environment. This position is crucial to our operation's efficiency and requires a strong background in shipping and receiving, ERP systems, and inventory/cycle counting. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform daily material handling tasks for production, ensuring all materials are accurately routed, stored, and identified. 

  • Manage and execute system transactions, locate and return material (Return to Stock), and help keep warehouse inventory accurate using our ERP system. 

  • Process and document incoming shipments, prioritize shipping and receiving duties, and communicate any discrepancies or damaged materials for swift resolution. 

  • Conduct accurate physical counts of inventory, perform cycle counts, assist with company-wide physical inventories, and provide root-cause analysis for inventory issues. 

  • Ensure all stock is labeled, tracked, and moved to correct warehouse locations per production requirements and system-generated instructions. 

  • Pull materials for production kits using pick lists, unload feeders, and fill backfills/shortage requests to support production continuity. 

  • Safely load and unload materials using pallet jacks, forklifts (certification a plus), and other handling equipment—ensuring proper bracing or padding as needed. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Stockroom team and provide backup support for shipping and receiving functions as needed. 

  • Maintain work area cleanliness, follow ISO standards, and participate in continuous improvement, including the training and oversight of team members. 

  • Uphold high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and compliance as you move and document material transactions. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Proven experience in shipping and receiving, specifically in a manufacturing or fast-paced warehouse environment (REQUIRED). 

  • Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory tracking and material movement (REQUIRED). 

  • Strong background in executing inventory activities—cycle counts, physical counts, and discrepancy investigations (REQUIRED). 

  • Experience with pallet jacks, reel counters, scales, and other basic warehouse equipment. 

  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills. 

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and work with attention to detail in a dynamic setting. 

  • Basic computer and problem-solving skills. 

  • Forklift certification a plus. 

  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed. 

  • Must meet US Person requirements under ITAR regulations.
