Material Handler II
Location: Irvine, CA 92618
Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 7am – 4pm PST
Pay: $27/hr
Benefits: Med/Den/Vis, 401(K), PTO, and Paid Holidays

Material Handler II performs manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties, usually utilizing computers. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Tasks are performed with limited supervision, and may include verifying quantity, weight, and conformance of materials, preparing records of shipping and bills of lading. Requires knowledge of shipping and/or receiving policies, practices and techniques, as well as knowledge of crating and packaging techniques. Assist area supervisor in training new employees. Leads the stockroom staff during the absence of the area supervisor.



Responsibilities
•     Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
•     Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, reject damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages including data entry, Routes items to departments.
•     Processes sub-Assembly parts including data entry and shelving of materials.
•     Issuance of materials to production area and other internal departments, pre-bagging of parts for production requirement uses.
•     Performs daily cycle count as required by the accounting department.
•     Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
•     Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
•     Operates forklift, tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
•     Follows all standard operating procedures.
•     Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
•     Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition.
•     Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
•     Performs other duties assigned as needed.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 3-5 years or more related experience.

Additional Education/Experience
  • Knowledge in JDE, SAP, ERP software is preferred.
  • Certification and experience in use of Forklift in warehouse setting is preferred.
