Material Planner

$30-35/hr
*Position is fully onsite
*Hours can be 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 9am-5pm
Kelly is seeking a Material Planner to work with our client, a global leader in electrical component manufacturing, on a temp-to-hire basis. The Material Planner will:
- Develop and maintain material and production plans based on forecasts and schedules
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely replenishment to avoid shortages
- Analyze MRP data and adjust planning parameters for optimal material flow
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of components
- Resolve material shortages and manage component expedites
- Schedule and load manufacturing requirements for assigned products and projects
- Align material planning with cost, quality, and delivery goals
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality
- Maintain accurate planning data in ERP (BaaN) system
- Perform daily functions in MRP modules, including:
- Confirming/transferring production orders
- Releasing MRP and PRP orders
- Updating work order schedules based on lead times and component availability
- Revising sales orders and production schedules to meet customer demand
- Previous relevant experience in material planning or production planning
- Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) planning required
- APICS certification preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic print reading skills required
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy; able to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
