Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Waukesha, WI
Duration: 12 months +        
Type: W2 contract (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY)
Pay: $40.00 - $52.00/hour (depending upon experience)


Overview

  • The Maternal Infant Care Team is developing the future of medical technology in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Labor and Delivery care areas of hospitals.
  • Core member of the MIC HW team designing cable harnessing, collaborating and managing suppliers, and carrying out the verification of medical devices.
  • Will contribute to the overall design, development, and validation of new electromechanical systems, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Infant Care products, as part of a larger HW team.
  • Conceptualize and create mechanical designs, mechanical components, and subsystems using Mechanical Engineering principles.
  • Create & review engineering drawings, understand GD&T principles, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection & selection of manufacturing processes.
  • Hands on 3D CAD modeling tools for design and development of mechanical components and sub systems.
  • Perform necessary mechanical calculations to meet the needs of modelling, part analysis, design FMEAs, etc.
  • Develop test plans and reports and perform testing and verification of designs.
  • Knowledge of industrial grade plastics/polymers and their design & manufacturing principles.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure test samples are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives.
  • Appetite for creativity and problem solving.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in “STEM” Major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • Effective oral and written technical communication skills
  • Experience designing mechanical parts in Creo
  • Mechanical testing experience in a regulated industry
  • Experience collaborating with vendors and suppliers

Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-starter, energizing, and results oriented
  • Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
  • Familiarity with medical device design controls
  • Demonstrated experience with quality and regulatory compliance processes

Additional Information
  • Hybrid / Monday – Friday / Required to be onsite 3 days a week / 8am – 5pm
  • Possible contract to direct hire opportunity for the right candidates; no guarantees
