Description

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong mechanical aptitude? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy coordinating the flow of work? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Mechanical Expeditor! In this temp-to-hire role, you will be the central hub for coordinating and facilitating the repair process, ensuring efficiency and quality throughout our repair departments. You'll be responsible for defining labor and material needs, estimating costs, managing inventory, and streamlining communication between departments.
Essential Duties:

  • Scheduling/Repair Processing:
  • Maintain a real-time understanding of the production schedule.
  • Expedite motor repairs, ensuring timely shipment.
  • Create daily schedules based on job priority, collaborating with sales and shop supervisors.
  • Manage approvals and assist with ERP system time tracking and scheduling.
  • Organize pulled parts in job bins.
  • Costing/BOM:
  • Oversee the inspection process, ensuring timely and thorough completion of inspection reports.
  • Collaborate with technicians, engineering, and sales to resolve potential roadblocks.
  • Provide accurate and timely cost estimates for motor repairs.
  • Maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM), creating, editing, and updating as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver repair documentation for outsourced repairs, interfacing with vendors.
  • Quality:
  • Verify motor parameters and conduct final visual inspections using checklists.
  • Ensure all customer property is returned with the repaired unit.
  • Track warranty claims from RMA issuance to resolution, assisting with corrective action documentation.
  • Sourcing:
  • Assist with documenting Repair Orders with pictures.
  • Support the specification and sourcing of parts, including second sourcing.
  • Obtain cost and delivery information for needed parts.
  • Create purchase orders (POs) for stock and repair-specific items, sending them to the purchasing department.
  • Inventory:
  • Issue surplus inventory to Repair Orders.
  • Ensure accurate parts usage in Repair Order job lines before shipment.
  • Determine the disposition of leftover inventory after job completion. Qualifications:
    • Knowledge:
    • College-level knowledge of electromechanical maintenance and repair, typically acquired through an associate degree in Electromechanical Technology (or equivalent).
    • Working knowledge of D.C. and A.C. motor theory.
    • Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software.
  • Experience:
