Mechanical Quality Inspector
Location: Brockton, MA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $30 – $38/hour (depending on experience)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time (with benefits)

A long-standing manufacturer of precision sensors and systems, with over 40 years of proven success and global impact, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our team. We are committed to delivering the highest level of quality in every product and are looking for someone who shares that dedication.

This role is essential to ensuring the quality of both incoming raw materials and the complex mechanical builds produced in-house. The work breakdown is approximately:

  • 30% Incoming inspection of raw materials

  • 60% In-process inspections of mechanical assemblies

  • 10% Final inspections prior to shipment

This position requires flexibility and the ability to shift between different inspection points throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming inspections: verify mechanical dimensions, surface finishes, and material/finish certifications to company blueprints and COTS product data sheets.

  • Conduct in-process inspections on mechanical assemblies, paint finishes, cable assemblies, and soldered items manufactured or processed in-house.

  • Complete final inspections to ensure outgoing products meet the highest quality standards.

  • Maintain non-conforming material reports and participate in material review board meetings.

  • Work in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong ability to read and analyze blueprints.

  • Skilled in verifying measurements using feature ballooned drawings.

  • Proficiency with standard inspection/testing tools, including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, pin gages, scales, and height gages.

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and GD&T (basic and advanced).

  • CMM experience (Faro preferred).

  • ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector preferred.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a mechanical inspector.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and dependable.
