Medical Device Principal Engineer  

  • Location: Onsite - Round Lake, Illinois (60073)
  • Type: Contract - (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY)
  • Duration: 12+ months - Opportunity for contract extension long term
  • Pay Rate – Negotiable depending on DIRECT-related experience
  • Work Authorization - Must be able to work in the U.S. with approved authorization status
  • Field of expertise: Technical Management, Project Management, Leadership

 
The Principal Engineer is to display standard engineering principles to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input. This engineer will plan, schedule and lead project assignments in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria with minimal guidance.

  RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Devises new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles.
  • Overall set design and supplier selection
  • Shall be knowledgeable of various manufacturing processes such as: assembly, extrusion and moulding.
  • Work with the Project Management Office (PMO), to plan out resources, budget, timelines throughout the project development lifecycle.
  • Design with manufacturability in mind; leading his/her team through various development activities that would eventually allow a smooth design transfer to manufacturing.
  • Responsible for finalizing any reports/presentations related to his projects and any other necessary reports
 
Qualifications:
  • 5 – 8 years of related medical device engineering experience
  • BS in Science or Engineering. Advanced degree a plus.
