Kelly Science & Clinical is currently recruiting for a Metallurgist for one of our clients, an aluminum rolling manufacturer, in St. Louis, MO.
In this role, you will lead the company's metallurgical department, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our metal production processes. You will leverage your expertise in molten metal, casting, and material properties to drive continuous improvement and develop innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the metallurgical department, setting the strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct research and development initiatives focused on molten metal behavior, casting processes, and material properties.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to optimize casting processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Lead the development of new metal products, ensuring they meet performance and cost requirements.
  • Provide technical support to the field, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal performance of our metal products.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in metallurgy and related technologies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a metallurgical or materials engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties, casting processes, and heat treatment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant technical software and metallurgical analysis tools (e.g., microscopy, spectroscopy).
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
