MRP Planner
Kelly Services is currently seeking a MRP Planner for one of our top clients in Raynham, MA.
- A Materials Replenishment Planner will be responsible for procuring raw and packaging materials by converting the output of the detailed schedule into daily/weekly materials requirements.
- The MRP planner will ensure availability of the right quantity of components to the production lines when needed, communicating the plan to the different suppliers within the agreed lead times.
- The MRP planner will also optimize the flow of materials, while considering plan warehouse capacity and inventory targets, eliminating potential disruptions in the storage area, minimizing both storage cost and potential SLOB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review purchase requisitions and delivery schedule lines Generate 1st cut MRP, including exceptions
- Liaise with suppliers to clarify potential plan constraints and interfaces between suppliers and the key internal partners Integrate feedback to generate 2nd cut MRP
- Finalize MRP and confirm quantities and dates, ensuring that all material delivery schedules are communicated to the suppliers on time to meet plan requirements
- Communicate/handover plan to MAKE for execution
- Manage potential abrupt deviation to the plan by assessing with the suppliers the feasibility of the changes rapidly highlights to the affected internal partner if the changes are not possible
- Involve and communicate with the different partners to motivate all relevant parties to fulfill compliance requirements
- Oversee plant slow moving and obsolete SLOB Management
- Provide material supplier input to the S OP process to allow for openness of risks and opportunities
- Liaise with warehouse staff to understand and adhere to space constraints, managing inventory levels within agreed targets
- Collaborate with quality assurance and warehouse staff regarding rejected/defective materials, making the necessary physical arrangements with the supplier to ensure timely return of goods to disposal
- Lead continuous improvement processes
- Manage the Material Phase in Phase out processes
Required:
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage and manipulate large amounts of data and convert to clear business information is required
- Ability to make decisions based on data and business insights is required
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, considering diverse perspective and styles is required ability to target their communication as appropriate for the audience and make presentations to a small-medium sized audience is required
- Experience with an ERP system SAP/APO/SNP/etc. is required
Preferred:
- Supply Chain Certification APICS/IBF is preferred
- Planning or manufacturing experience in a medical/Pharmaceutical or Consumer industry is preferred
- Ability to apply project and person leadership to successfully achieve project, team, and individual goals
- Ability to influence others in a matrix environment is preferred
- Ability to challenge the status quo and evaluate processes to determine if refinements would enhance results and productivity or quality and/or ability to work with continuous improvement tools is preferred
