Night Fork Truck Driver – Ringwood, IL

Kelly Project Services, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Fork Truck Driver for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Ringwood, IL.  This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position.

Title: Fork Truck Driver
Location: Ringwood (60072)
Pay: $22.50 hr; plus benefits and PTO
Hours: 7PM – 7AM, work 3-2-2 schedule
Duration: long term
As a Fork Truck Driver placed with Kelly Project Services you will be responsible for the following:
Summary:
The Fork Truck Driver will move material within a warehouse and production environment in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
This position will work with packagers, process operators, maintenance tech, production engineer, Logistics personnel in Ringwood operations facility.
Forklift Driver:

  • Move material within a warehouse and production environment in a safe, accurate and in a
timely manner.
  • Comply with all site rules and safety requirements.
  • Comply with Logistics procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Inspect pallets prior stacking and un-stacking
  • Apply banding/strapping and labeling according to specifications.
  • Perform daily forklift and Drexel inspections.
  • Obtain raw materials for production per transfer order request.
  • Return unused raw materials back to RM Warehouse and identify partial quantities with count tags.
  • Track all material movements in SAP for inventory accuracy.
  • Separate bags and drums from pallet per transfer order request.
  • Re-label drums/pails/totes if needed.
  • Operate Forklift, Drexel, scrubber/sweeper drive in and walk behind equipment.
  • Perform floor building clean ups by using scrubber/sweeper equipment per the cleaning schedule.
  • Perform rounds on a daily basis and fill out the round sheet checklist.
  • Perform cycle counts as needed.
  • Work with other drivers and production personnel to ensure team spirit and team functionality.
  • Other duties as requested by management.
  • Notify supervision of all injuries, illnesses, spills and other safety incidents immediately.
  • Successfully complete all required EHS Training.
Critical Success Factors:
  • Must be able to understand and carry out instructions concerning standardized or non- standardized requirements, methods and procedures. 
  • Must have sufficient judgment to ask questions when in doubt regarding procedures or instructions.
  • Must be able to understand and follow all plant safety and security rules and regulations. 
  • Must be able to recognize hazards and avoid creating hazards to himself/herself, fellow employees, the general public and the environment.
  • Must have ability to do math calculations and read process instructions and material safety data sheets.
  • Must be safety-minded and have good housekeeping habits.  
  • Must actively work to improve the safety performance of fellow employees by giving and receiving feedback on safety.
Education/Certification/Experience Requirements        
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • High school diploma, equivalent, or a satisfactory work record is required
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
  • Must be able to calculate various measurements using basic math skills.
  • Fork Truck operation training will be provided
Physical Requirements:
  • With mechanic assist, must be able to manually move 50 pound drums after proper PHYSICAL training.
  • Must be able to manually lift and handle a nominal weight of 25kgs (55lbs).
  • Ability to wear various types of respirators (cartridge, fresh air, or self-contained).  Facial hair around the sealing surface of the respirator is not allowed.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and operate process equipment
  • Must be able to operate hand tools, such as pliers, screwdrivers, and scrapers.
  • Required to stand up to 90% of working day with frequent walking, intermittent stopping and bending while operating equipment, drumming, etc.
  • Must be able to tolerate periodic hot, inside working conditions or cold outside conditions
  • Have no known sensitivity or history of skin or respiratory allergies to dust, dirt, or chemicals to which there may be workplace exposure if an allergic reaction could create a safety or health hazard.
  • Must be able to wear required protective clothing & equipment.
  • Must be able to operate forklifts both manual, (pallet jacks), and sit-down riders.
